The Solution

The Solution

The project operates with following strategies

  1. 1. Building city level resilience
Each residential plot earmarks 20% of land towards soaking and storing flood/rain water. These water bodies become rain water harvesting systems, which collect, store, purify and celebrate water.
  2. 2. Aqueous house typology
The house gradually rises above the ground too enable smooth flow of water beneath.
  3. 3. Neighbourhood formation
Aqueous communes create an intimately stitched social neighbourhood that revolve around the water body.

Expected Impact

The primary aim is not only to design flood absorbing ponds but also create public spaces for everyday lives. These public spaces are for everyone and create a sense of community between all the inhabitants blurring the boundaries of caste.
